Urns in Outdoor Pool

This water feature is based in the garden of a large house.

Solve was commissioned to develop, build and install a pair of classical urns. The brief required that they look like they’re made of Lake District slate, yet appear to float on the surface of the heated outdoor pool.

The 2.4M high urns were made out of moulded glass fibre. They each sit on a stainless steel frame, which in turn is built onto a tiled plinth, set just below the surface of the pool. Water flows gently down the surface of the ‘slate’ and is returned via the pool.
