Fort Dunlop Cows' Playground

Fort Dunlop was, as the name suggests, was formerly a Dunlop tyre factory. It dominates the skyline, next to the M6 Motorway, in Birmingham. On the roof of the refurbished 8-storey building, is what is reputed to be one of the largest roof gardens in Europe.

The brief was to create a rooftop cow’s adventure playground. Real Dunlop tyres and decorated glass fibre cows were used as props, to create a tyre swing, sand pit and hopscotch displays.

A large crane was hired to lift the cows into place, much to the amusement of passers-by and the local media.
